The Journey Back Home ~ 9.30.2017

Sound 🔊 On!!! 🔊

Did you know that a rainbow is actually a perfect circle representative of unity and wholeness?

Art and music, when combined forms a perfect unified circle infused with sound and light, also representative of wholeness.

Art and music. It speaks to us. It moves us. It unites us. ✨✨✨

We share a creation involving an artist, a musician, and my writing below to bring you some PLUR (peace love unity respect ) vibes.

From an older post of mine:

Language of Colors 🌈💫🌈

The sun spilled out from the sky,

Extending his long arms,

as glorious beams of light,

Reaching out to me,

All of his fingers,

Were diluted with all these beautiful bright colors,

A colorful spectrum of light,

Shining brightly,

All within his hands,

And as these colors sweetly touched my face,

They spoke to me and whispered,

This is how,

You too,

Can paint the world,

With your light.

When a Flower is not Just a Flower – January 11,2017

Do you know those moments where time feels like it stands still?

Those attention grabbing moments.

Where a person’s energy seems to pull you completely into them.

Those moments that envelope the entirety of your attention.

Perhaps it’s a recognition of something in their voice, a sort of raw and real sincerity.

Those moments where you have an answer before a question.

And flowers are no longer just flowers.

Today I had one of those moments.

A man walked timidly in to the store where my friend an I were sitting having a smoothie.

He interrupted gently, his scruffy grey hair was disheveled and his sheepish face looked like he’d barely gotten a few hours of sleep. He wore a simple t-shirt and jeans and held a small vase of flowers in his hands.

He then spoke gently, and asked if we would like to buy “this beautiful arrangement of flowers that his wife had made.” And almost immediately, he started explaining that he and his wife had recently arrived from Venezuela. They had spend the entire night making flower arrangements for sale. They had no work, and were barely getting by. They were likely illegal immigrants.

Was it a dream I had had the night before that triggered something inside me?

Or could I see through to this man’s soul?

I cannot comprehend what it was that moved me.

But it was purely instinctive.

He had barely finished his words when I jumped up without thinking and said “I would like to buy the flowers.”

He was asking twelve dollars for the arrangement.  As I had spoken from the heart and without thinking, I then realized I had no cash.

Nevertheless, I asked the man to wait for me so I could go find an ATM and take some cash out. He said he would wait for me at the store until midnight, if he had to.

I felt I couldn’t let him down. This stranger out of nowhere. I have no reason to have felt this way. But I did.

So I rushed quickly to the closest ATM. I withdrew the money and went back to search for the man.

I found him waiting for me where I left him. I handed him a twenty and asked him to keep the change. And then I told him I was Venezuelan too.

He then handed me the flower arrangement, and I noticed tears started swelling in his eyes.

All of a sudden he started going on about the terrible luck he had been experiencing; The hardship he was facing in trying to get by by selling flowers.

Recalling an incident, he told me of someone who said would buy the flowers, made him wait, but then went to a local store to buy flowers at a higher price. Said the local community of Venezuelans instead of being helpful, had been very unsupportive.

It was both lonely and disappointing, he said, feeling as if people wanted to see him fail.

I understood from his story that this man had taken a big risk in being disappointed once again, but he had still taken the chance and waited for me to return with the money.

His eyes were sad. He seemed to be on the brink of losing hope.

And then he stopped speaking. He thanked me graciously, his voice cracking, as he said to me”thank you… for having some compassion.”

And then he swiftly walked away.

As I watched him leave, my heart fell to pieces as I realized he reminded me of someone I knew.

Was I there in this moment to help this man? To show him that his luck would change?

Or was he there to teach me all that is wrong with this world?

Where compassion is scarce and cheering others on is almost unheard of?

Where one person’s kindness CAN be the difference;

Where a loving simple act can be one person’s glimmer of hope.

United – 12.28.2016

united
Wall Mural at Wynwood, Miami, By Clandestinos

He was noble and wise.

His hands could heal the world.

His eyes could penetrate a person’s soul.

His greatness, lovingly infected the sounds of the universe.

She was enigmatic; a visionary.

Her heart pure and deep like the ocean,

She harnessed an intuitive knowingness that could bridge heaven and earth.

A seer of all that was good, she held inside her the secrets of the cosmos.

Separated by an ocean in their unique differences,

They learned to dance to the beat of their own drums.

Yet, it was when they finally came together that the real magic happened.

As each of their gifts held different colors of the rainbow.

And when these gifts were finally united,

It was their love that transcended

The greatest illusion of all:

The illusion of time and space.

Fear Less – 11.22.2016

image1-1

Human nature tends to fear and walk away from that which we can’t comprehend.

Because we cannot relate, or fit it perfectly inside a little box, we dissociate ourselves from it, and as such, we bind ourselves to the limits of our own beliefs; our sweet warm comfort zones.

We were conditioned and taught as children to mistrust; to fear that which is unknown and different from ourselves.

But yet, when we have challenged ourselves to overcome our fears, we have performed beyond our wildest imagination.

When we have thrown away those boxes inside our heads, and listened to the beats of our hearts, we’ve generated plenitude of magic.

When we have excitedly flung ourselves into the abyss of the unknown, we’ve created numerous unforgettable adventures.

And when we’ve engaged and shared with people from other walks of life, all with a different story to tell; each of them bringing different gifts of bold bright colors, we’ve encountered soul enriching life-changing moments; surmountable amounts of growth.

Therefore, we mustn’t settle for “just” good enough.

We mustn’t fear that which is different, because different might just be exactly what we were looking for.

Fear less. Be bold. Start living.

Have fun.

Help Each Other.

The One and Infinte, Unconditional Love – 11.11.16

My son and I holding a rainbow together in the symbolic representation of the one and infinite, Unconditional Love 🌈💖💕💕

Kindness and compassion starts at home. So this year, as a family, we decided to sponsor a child in need by joining up with a great cause, a program created by the daughter of a beautiful and very special friend, called “Hope on the GO.”

Hope on the Go is a holiday donation program, and this year the program has selected 6 children to be participants of this holiday program.

I allowed the kids to make their selection and together we chose to sponsor a two year old baby girl.

These children have primarily come from Central and South America. They flee their country of origin to escape abuse, abandonment, generalized community or gang violence, and seeking safety and protection. They are very vulnerable and need our help.

The minors selected have undergone tremendous hardships in their lives, have a history of trauma, and very limited financial means.
The goal is to give each of them a medium size box with new items / presents (shoes, clothes, toiletries, and age/gender appropriate toys or electronic device).

My desire is to show my kids the importance of compassion and kindness. To teach them not only these values, but to appreciate just how very lucky they are every single day.

Therefore in December, we plan on visiting the child we are sponsoring to deliver her box of goodies.

A follow-up story to this will be posted to describe the magic resulting from the event.

For more information on this program, or if you would like to participate by donating items you may comment below.

True Love Waits – 10.20.16

radiohead-ok-computer-song-meaning-true-love-waits-two

We let anger get the best of us.

We have no idea why we feel we must behave a certain way,

When it’s all just a quest,

A voyage to find our lost selves,

We plow through, but forcefully,

Hurting the ones we love,

Unintentionally,

All because our soul is screaming to break free,

But we did not know.

We did not understand.

So we created sparks,

Turmoil and waves,

A collateral damage

Which still remains,

And it’s not until that moment

That it all clicks.

That we could have gotten to our destination,

In another way,

A better way.

There is always, a gentle way,

To seek our truths.

It starts with forgiveness.

Virtual Walls – August 12, 2016

I’m starting to realize just how lonely most people truly are.

Could it be that the warm tenderness we used to feel through human contact has been deeply severed;

Consequences of modern technology, which has intensely crated a false sense of togetherness.

Where we befriend people from afar without getting “too personal,”

Each one of them parading behind a mask;

Acting out their magnificent role on their glorious stage,

A beautiful theatrical performance specifically catered to its audience.

A virtual reality where we can no longer differentiate between truth and deception.

A dangerous story which could leave us vulnerable to unfathomable pain.

And so we choose protection by creating walls that enslave us.

Resulting in our no longer being spectators, but also now participants,

In the very same cold and disconnected world;

leaving us empty;

making us creators of our very own lonely world.

Infinity – 8.1.2016

You feel it, don’t you?

The way the storms move inside your chest?

Does your skin crawl with every breathe you take?

When did you notice it?

That full heaviness that sets in right in middle of your chest.

It’s new, isn’t it?

You don’t even know where it comes from,

Or when it was that it first appeared.

But it’s the interconnectedness of it all.

The feel of the gravitational pull of the earth.

Pushing you forward, setting you onto your destined course.

An infinite oneness;

A mixture of both

joy and the pain;

fear and the love;

And all because….we are one.

Free Thinkers – June 14, 2016

Who are Free Thinkers.jpg

“Let’s change the world,” he said.

“How?” she asked.

“Start with love, and go back to the beginning,” he responded, “everything you were taught as a child needs some re-visiting.”

“What do you mean?” She looked at him in awe.

“Whatever feels natural, whatever feels good, that’s what you must follow…” he replied, continuing on in a very gentle and loving voice, “Look around you, and then look inside yourself, and then after that, ask yourself what makes sense, and what doesn’t? “

He leaned in closer and whispered with passion, “the more truthful you are with yourself about your life it will start having an impact on everything around you.  But, in order to do so, you must be brave.  Don’t let fear cloud your judgment.  Follow through, always acting out of love. That alone will give you clarity, and change your reality.  We are free thinkers, and we are here to change the world….”

World Views – May 26, 2016

Dense energy; bothersome fuzzy grey heaviness.

Red in the face, flushing blood to the head; fuming.

Opposing views; egos clash with a lack of understanding.

Blind as a bat only feeling the sonar energy of anger.

Can’t we leave the past behind and unchain ourselves from pain.

Can’t we leave both ends of the color spectrum and tenderly meet halfway.

It’s so simple, but instead we choose to weave ourselves in a spider web of hate.

Relentless we force our world’s views upon another’s universe.

Never yielding; never opening our minds.
