The Woven Word – 11.29.16

She sat in her white robe.

It was tied solely at the corner of her left shoulder.

She was wearing nothing underneath.

She plucked the strings,

Of a harp,

The angelic sounds,

so perfect,

It was more than math.

This math quickly turned into passionate love making.

The instrument stood solid between her legs,

While her hands gently touched

the monochord instrument

with such sweet caresses,

they produced such sweet vibrations,

they electrified her entire body to the core.

A feeling so profound,

Her soul moaned with pleasure.

And in that very instance,

She heard her soul sing.

A melody of words which she desperately anguished to write.

They were so full of passion; creation.

A tune reminding her that she had nothing to fear,

For the desires and pleasures that were awakening within her,

Were simply memories;

Memories that were here to set her free.

And so, resolved,

she stopped for a brief moment,

got up, and walked over to the wall.

And as if in Ancient Egypt,

and so that her words would never be forgotten,

She carved in black bold ink:

“TO JUDGE THYSELF IS A JUDGMENT IN ITSELF.”

And with that,

She sat down,

legs wide open,

placed the instrument confidently between her legs,

and allowed the music to become her.

Inspired by an Egyptian Poem called “The Harpeer’s Song for Inherkawy” from the National Geographic News:

The Harper’s Song for Inherkhawy (Excerpt)

So seize the day! hold holiday!
Be unwearied, unceasing, alive
you and your own true love;
Let not the heart be troubled during your
sojourn on Earth,
but seize the day as it passes!

Fear Less – 11.22.2016

image1-1

Human nature tends to fear and walk away from that which we can’t comprehend.

Because we cannot relate, or fit it perfectly inside a little box, we dissociate ourselves from it, and as such, we bind ourselves to the limits of our own beliefs; our sweet warm comfort zones.

We were conditioned and taught as children to mistrust; to fear that which is unknown and different from ourselves.

But yet, when we have challenged ourselves to overcome our fears, we have performed beyond our wildest imagination.

When we have thrown away those boxes inside our heads, and listened to the beats of our hearts, we’ve generated plenitude of magic.

When we have excitedly flung ourselves into the abyss of the unknown, we’ve created numerous unforgettable adventures.

And when we’ve engaged and shared with people from other walks of life, all with a different story to tell; each of them bringing different gifts of bold bright colors, we’ve encountered soul enriching life-changing moments; surmountable amounts of growth.

Therefore, we mustn’t settle for “just” good enough.

We mustn’t fear that which is different, because different might just be exactly what we were looking for.

Fear less. Be bold. Start living.

Have fun.

Help Each Other.

Happiness the biggest illusion of all? 10.13.16

Sometimes I wonder if we actually create are own realities,
Or if we simply learn to see colors where none truly exist.

Could it be that some of us have trained ourselves to see the beauty in everything so that we may simply bear to live our otherwise boring lives full of society based rituals and mundane routines?

Have we learned to truly enjoy every breath taken? Or have we simply learned to freeze time by converting that one special moment lived into an eternal memory; only a minute within a 24 hour day lived, with the remaining 1,439 minutes of fast paced nonsense spent, and already forgotten.

All but to rush into bed just to relive that one minute memory, but in a dream.
Could it be that we’ve only become complacent and feel happy simply because we made up our minds up to be?

Is what we tell ourselves once we’ve learned to love ourselves simply another illusion?

Are we truly the special ones that can transmute darkness into light? Can we truly bring a glimmer of light in the darkest of places, always enchanted by the magic we see in the everyday things?

The optimists, the game changers, the ones that smile through the tears.

Is this true happiness, or simply a coping mechanism?

This is why we must be led by our hearts, and allow ourselves to feel. Feel everything, feel it all, but then address those feelings. Analyze them. Don’t let them leave you and be forgotten without truly understanding where those feelings came from.

Connecting the heart (our leader) with our minds (our guardian) is the only way to break through the illusions.

Only then is when we can truly find authenticity; true happiness.

Unlocking the Key ~July 28, 2016

picture taken by me July 24, 2016

“If you have all this power,” she urged,  “why don’t you use it to get yourself out of jail? Do something!”

Only moments before he had been showing her how powerful he was by moving objects with his mind.

“I can’t use my power for things like that,” the old man answered, “I am here to live out my purpose.”

He walked away and went inside the court room where he was being tried for murder.

She knew he was innocent.

He, however, was choosing to allow his destiny to unravel itself at the mercy of the universe.

After several hours inside the courtroom he came out smiling, now a free man.

He walked over to her and stated,  “she did her part. She testified even though she barely knew me, and she brought forth evidence that demonstrated my innocence.”

She felt relieved.

She was relieved to know that her sister had chosen not to hold any grudges over him; even though they had just learned he was their estranged grandfather.

She knew how her sister was and she had feared she would chose not to help him.  The old man was a stranger to them.  He had been gone their entire lifetime.

She had not expected for her to come forward, but was pleased that she had, having for a moment felt so so powerless with the inability to intervene.

And then,  reading her thoughts, he looked deep into her eyes and explained,”I was at her mercy. We all have to play our part.”

“You see,” he continued, “each relationship is made up of two pieces. Like if balancing out an equation, each one of us must do our part in accomplishing our piece of the puzzle.”

He further explained, “I had to go to jail even though I could have used my power to influence my innocence. But it was up to your sister to come forward and do her part. It was her part of the lesson.”

She looked at him in awe.  She could not believe he had been willing to stand still.  To have allowed his future to rest in the hands of her sister.

Smiling he nodded and quietly said:

“We must each do our part to accomplish the lesson on boths sides. This is how we unlock the key.  That is how we are able to proceed to the next level…..

And now because of this, I am truly free.”
