The Woven Word – 11.29.16

Artist Unknown

She sat in her white robe.

It was tied solely at the corner of her left shoulder.

She was wearing nothing underneath.

She plucked the strings,

Of a harp,

The angelic sounds,

so perfect,

It was more than math.

This math quickly turned into passionate love making.

The instrument stood solid between her legs,

While her hands gently touched

the monochord instrument

with such sweet caresses,

they produced such sweet vibrations,

they electrified her entire body to the core.

A feeling so profound,

Her soul moaned with pleasure.

And in that very instance,

She heard her soul sing.

A melody of words which she desperately anguished to write.

They were so full of passion; creation.

A tune reminding her that she had nothing to fear,

For the desires and pleasures that were awakening within her,

Were simply memories;

Memories that were here to set her free.

And so, resolved,

she stopped for a brief moment,

got up, and walked over to the wall.

And as if in Ancient Egypt,

and so that her words would never be forgotten,

She carved in black bold ink:

“TO JUDGE THYSELF IS A JUDGMENT IN ITSELF.”

And with that,

She sat down,

legs wide open,

placed the instrument confidently between her legs,

and allowed the music to become her.

Inspired by an Egyptian Poem called “The Harpeer’s Song for Inherkawy” from the National Geographic News:

The Harper’s Song for Inherkhawy (Excerpt)

So seize the day! hold holiday!
Be unwearied, unceasing, alive
you and your own true love;
Let not the heart be troubled during your
sojourn on Earth,
but seize the day as it passes!

Fear Less – 11.22.2016

image1-1

Human nature tends to fear and walk away from that which we can’t comprehend.

Because we cannot relate, or fit it perfectly inside a little box, we dissociate ourselves from it, and as such, we bind ourselves to the limits of our own beliefs; our sweet warm comfort zones.

We were conditioned and taught as children to mistrust; to fear that which is unknown and different from ourselves.

But yet, when we have challenged ourselves to overcome our fears, we have performed beyond our wildest imagination.

When we have thrown away those boxes inside our heads, and listened to the beats of our hearts, we’ve generated plenitude of magic.

When we have excitedly flung ourselves into the abyss of the unknown, we’ve created numerous unforgettable adventures.

And when we’ve engaged and shared with people from other walks of life, all with a different story to tell; each of them bringing different gifts of bold bright colors, we’ve encountered soul enriching life-changing moments; surmountable amounts of growth.

Therefore, we mustn’t settle for “just” good enough.

We mustn’t fear that which is different, because different might just be exactly what we were looking for.

Fear less. Be bold. Start living.

Have fun.

Help Each Other.

The Pendulum -11.20.16

And like a pendulum swinging, the forces of nature came into balance, and the water glimmered in a grand round of applause as a new star was born. ~gg

The One and Infinte, Unconditional Love – 11.11.16

My son and I holding a rainbow together in the symbolic representation of the one and infinite, Unconditional Love 🌈💖💕💕

Kindness and compassion starts at home. So this year, as a family, we decided to sponsor a child in need by joining up with a great cause, a program created by the daughter of a beautiful and very special friend, called “Hope on the GO.”

Hope on the Go is a holiday donation program, and this year the program has selected 6 children to be participants of this holiday program.

I allowed the kids to make their selection and together we chose to sponsor a two year old baby girl.

These children have primarily come from Central and South America. They flee their country of origin to escape abuse, abandonment, generalized community or gang violence, and seeking safety and protection. They are very vulnerable and need our help.

The minors selected have undergone tremendous hardships in their lives, have a history of trauma, and very limited financial means.
The goal is to give each of them a medium size box with new items / presents (shoes, clothes, toiletries, and age/gender appropriate toys or electronic device).

My desire is to show my kids the importance of compassion and kindness. To teach them not only these values, but to appreciate just how very lucky they are every single day.

Therefore in December, we plan on visiting the child we are sponsoring to deliver her box of goodies.

A follow-up story to this will be posted to describe the magic resulting from the event.

For more information on this program, or if you would like to participate by donating items you may comment below.

A Quiet Space In A Moment ~ 11.14.2016

Picture taken by me on 11.14.2016, Miami, FL

She desparately wondered,

And sincerely admitted to

Her fear,

Her fear of valuing their relationship too much.

Her fear that he did not cherish her the same way in which she cherished him.

She wondered if the connection she felt so real was all but in her mind.

That the love she had for him,

Was not truly being reciprocated back in equal parts,

The not knowing.

The uncertainty.

She anguished over it.

It tortured her.

And then is when I looked deeply into her eyes and implored her,

“Let me ask you this,”

If you could hear the beats of his heart,

And see who it dances for,

Would that change the way you feel about him?

And in that quiet space of that moment,

She was changed.

The Language of Colors-11.2.16

sun-pic-yard
Picture taken by me on 10.31.16 from my backyard (no filter)

The sun spilled out from the sky,

Extending his long arms,

as glorious beams of light,

Reaching out to me,

All of his fingers,

Were diluted with all these beautiful bright colors,

A colorful spectrum of light,

Shining brightly,

All within his hands,

And as these colors sweetly touched my face,

They spoke to me and whispered,

This is how,

You too,

Can paint the world,

With your light.
